Oops a new hobby

Sewing because why not.

Late September 2024 was a bad couple weeks. On A Thursday commute to work I got hit by a car. We were both going very slowly. Damage to myself and the bike was minimized by the fact it was Thursday. On thursdays I go the farmers Market, and because of that my pannier was full of empty egg cartons to return to the vendors. By no small measure of good luck the bumber of the car hit the pannier denting the egg cartons. The bike needed the wheel adjusted. My knee was sore. The car hit me harder than I thought, it hit me so hard I got covid. Soon after getting the bike fixed I started feeling like shit. It was covid. My first recorded case*. The first days were as exhausting as expected. In the slow climb back to good enough health and negative test results I started to get BORED. Very bored. So I went looking for a project that I could do without leaving the house. I chose to make a Cowl. I had thought about cowls as a solution to one of the problems of bad weather biking gear. How do you insulate the head, and not set up a path for water do go down your collar. In about 2019 I started asking about having one made but never commited to the project. So fast forward to fall 2024, with my Youtube feed having acquired an odd bunch of clothing history channels, and me being bored. Quickly enough I found a pattern for a 10th century cowl, and found that I had enough of a cotton twill to make a good go at it. *can not with certainty say I never ever had it before Place holder text.
